Bathtub Grab Bar

Bathtub grab bar is a reliable "helping hand" when you need it. Suction grab bar provides the grabbing handle you need to hold onto for extra balance. Position this bar vertically or horizontally on tub or shower wall. Easy-release, flip-up tabs make it simple to install, reposition or remove. Supports up to 300 lbs. Plastic grab bar for bathtub is 11 1/2 x 3 x 3 3/4".

Each year, thousands of unsuspecting Americans fall at home, leaving many of them seriously injured and disabled. In 2010, more than 12,800 people over age 65 died and 1.6 million were treated in emergency departments because of falls.

Falls can occur unexpectedly, even to the most sure-footed person. Most falls take place at home, making proactive fall prevention around the house important. Here are some safety tips to help prevent slips, trips and falls:

Easy Comforts fall prevention and home safety tips
  • Reduce your risk of trips and slips by keeping your feet firmly in touch with the ground.
  • Use products that hold rugs in place and add traction to slippery surfaces.
  • Never walk around the house barefoot or in socks/slippers with smooth bottoms.
  • Ensure uniform lighting in rooms by adding lights to dark areas.
  • Use motion-sensing lights so you can see where you're walking.
  • Place lighting close to the bed, where it’s easy to reach.
  • Preventative measures such as handles and mats, lessen the chance of being caught off guard.
  • Keep items used frequently on lower shelves (about shoulder level).
  • Use a stool with a bar attached for additional stability when reaching items on high shelves.
  • Place non-slip mats or strips on the floor of the tub or shower.
  • Add bars inside and outside your bathing area and next to the toilet.

    Health tips for preventing falls
  • Exercise regularly. Focus on increasing leg strength and improving balance.
  • Identify your medications that may cause side effects such as dizziness or drowsiness.
  • Keep an eye on your vision health and visit an eye doctor at least once a year.

In addition to fall prevention at home, being aware of weather and terrain conditions when you venture outdoors is also important. Easy Comforts offers easy-to-handle products that can reduce hazards and aid in personal stability while away from home.

Excellent product
This product is a great value and works great in the shower for that extra handle. Very durable and sturdy and easy to remove if necessary.

It gives a lot of security.
I put this grab bar in the shower. It adds a lot of security, when getting in and out. It was easy to install and well worth the price.

This is my second purchase of this product, the first being a much larger size. We have a shower stall that didn't have any extras. This was for towels. I can fit two bath towels on the bar and it has never fallen. This last purchase was for a small handle bar. I have problems with my balance especially when I close my eyes. Having the bar to hold onto while shampooing has given me the stability I need.

So great I had to buy a second one.
I had one in my previous home in my shower. I had a handicap bar on one side of the shower, but wanted something to hold on to on the other side. In my new home, I didn't have anything, so I bought a second and put one on each side. I feel so much more comfortable knowing I can get support on either side of the shower.

Love it!

Have a large tub and bad ankle. This makes it a lot easier getting in and out. Was afraid it might not stick to the tiles but it has not budged yet in two weeks.

Handy and Safe!
These are so great when an extra handle is needed. Just wet the suction cups, position where needed on dry tub or shower & flip the tabs down to secure. Easily moved where they are needed. I have 3 in my walk-in shower, one on each wall. The feeling of safety in a slippery situation is very reassuring!

Does it stick on regular painted walls?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It works best on very smooth flat surfaces, like ceramic tile or an enameled tub. My sister got one for her plastic(?) tub and it wouldn't stick at all; she gave it to me, and I put it on the tile wall. Even though it's not exactly the right length, so the inner edges always lap over the grouting a tiny bit, it still holds firm for days at a time.

Word of warning: with a suction-held grab bar, ALWAYS give it a good tug to make sure it's secured, before putting your weight on it.
