Will the handle lock in place?

We need a support rail that will be perpendicular to the side of the bed...but it must lock in place. I cannot order this item unless I have more information.

where are the instructions?

Since this is primarily a productfor disabled elderly, i would think a simple set of assembly instructions would be a priority..but sometimes I think in old fashion ways. Hopefully i can get it together,if not it will be going back..

There are no directions with this - still can't figure it out, so haven't used it. Probably will put it away until I really, really need it.
