It is a much needed item that could be very useful, but it is made so skimpily. It needs 1/3 more height to be effective in stopping the spread of grease, and the hinges will not last.

    When moved from Texas to South Carolina we did not pack our splatter shield instead gave it to one of our friends. When we got here we could not find one until we found this one it is the same as we had. We love this product, because we do a lot of pan frying and it does what it says it does!!!
